I’m not so great with them. I like structure, I like having an idea of what to expect. I like feeling oriented – as in knowing where I’m going when I’m driving Scarlett. So the past 20 days have been pretty stressful for this chick! I wish I was more naturally adventurous. BUT, I am who I am. Yesterday’s new experience was going to a new yoga studio. I don’t really enjoy checking out new places. Once I find one I love…. Well then I don’t want to go anywhere else, even if I know it would be good for a balanced practice. New places can be so distracting 🙂 I’ve been researching where to try first – and I picked Exhale. It is close to my house and the instructors biographies interested me.

I took a noon Yin class led by Jay. I felt very welcome immediately upon meeting him and given the general lobby vibe. In terms of amenities, I’ve been most spoiled with the changing rooms/showers at The Ashram. Exhale just has two bathrooms. The other thing is that the floor in the studio is carpet. I’m just not so sure about carpet in a studio….. It did seem very clean and I took a Yin class. But I’m just not sure how I’ll feel about carpet in the Hot Yoga classes. We shall see though – I brought a Groupon for the next 30 days. So I am going to take advantage of that coupon to the fullest. Overall my impression was a very good one. I liked Jay a lot. He was laid back, gave good directional commands, not overly chatty, safe sequence. I will definitely go back to his class. He’s teaching today at 5:30 but I think I’ll try Rebecca’s class at 9:30. When I have the option I much prefer to practice in the morning. 🙂

I’d love to hear what you think :)
