I slept almost 8 hours last night. My cortisol levels must only be sky high now! Hooray! It is amazing how affected we are by poor sleep, I have truly felt like a zombie (ok, no desires for human brains).
The big news of the day is that we accepted a very nice offer on our Bothell house yesterday. The buyers are very enthusiastic about the house, which I like to hear, and want to close by May 20th. Over the moon elated to get rid of a house payment. I do wish the new occupants the happiest of times there.
I’m really happy in our new house. I love the Ranch style layout and the incredible view. However, the owners didn’t do a thing for the house landscape-wise. There is *one* shrub on the walkway to the house, and nothing more. Even though they build it in 2006! Most peculiar. So I am starting to learn about options for gardening here. My only gardening experiences have been in Madison WI and the various places I lived on the Eastside (Seattle’s neighboring cities). The “soil” here is sand. Nothing like the incredibly nutrient rich black Midwest soil! Or the clay rich soil of the Pacific NW. My high desert garden will be a raised bed style in the space outside my yoga room . I’ll definitely be amending that soil. We will go the xeric route in the rest of the yard. We will definitely be consulting a landscaper on that. And I am determined to have a lilac tree here, somewhere. They grow here and I am STOKED. Turns out I am familiar with a lot of plants that grow here (hooray) but they will require a lot of love and attention, I am more of a benign neglect gardener, so I may fall in love with xeric landscaping 🙂 But I know I will always need to cultivate culinary herbs and I’d like to try my hand at growing chilies and tomatoes.

I believe it is time to meditate. And do my early morning yoga Yin program. Namaste

I’d love to hear what you think :)
